In 2016, Joel Rennich released the popular open source application NoMAD and is now developing other tools that strive to make MacAdmins’ lives easier. Previously, he spent over a decade working at Apple as an Enterprise Systems Engineering Manager doing all kinds of fun things with lots of cool people while solving crazy problems to allow for integrating Mac and iOS devices successfully into enterprise environments.
Prior to Apple, Joel was frequently seen speaking at Macworld, WWDC, and other international conferences and gatherings of Apple-minded admins as the founder of AFP548.com. Recently, Joel has enjoyed working on projects to help people get into a casual binding environment and removing the need for binding to Active Directory at all. With NoMAD,
Joel is also a classically trained journalist. He’s got the diploma from the University of Illinois—Urbana-Champaign to prove it. He plied his trade as a paparazzi chasing Monica Lewinsky in Washington, D.C., before rising to become the Director of Photography for United Press International. If you’re lucky he’ll even tell you some of his Monica stories, as the stories are better than the photos…

Josh R. Wisenbaker is the Head of Engineering for Orchard & Grove, an app development and consulting firm based in Austin, Texas. He arrived here from an 11-year stint at Apple where he worked closely with enterprise customers to help them deploy and manage Apple devices and software. His last four years at Apple focused on in-house enterprise app development, and he brings that scarring experience with him to Orchard & Grove where he intends to set up shop the correct way.
Prior to Apple, Josh frequented the Mac conference speaker’s circuit as half of AFP548.com. He also worked to increase Mac adoption in enterprise environments as a member of the MacEnterprise Steering Committee and as a sysadmin for Lowe’s Home Improvement and ComputerTree Technologies. These efforts helped place Josh in the inaugural group of the MacTech 25 nearly 75 years ago.
Josh has an undergraduate degree in European History from Western Carolina University and is self-taught in other areas such as metalworking, brewing, auto-repair, and software development. He lives alone, with the exception of his wife, three children, cat, two birds, two rats, and several fish, in Winston-Salem, NC.
